Dr. Shoushtari graduated magna cum laude from Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he was Class President. After dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He followed his passion and went on to receive his Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Southern California. Due to his success at USC, the Department of Endodontics selected him to be Chief Resident. During his education and training, he has been fortunate to learn and be mentioned by world renowned endodontist such as Dr. Dudley Glick and Dr. James Simon.

Dr. Shoushtari believes that sound and proven science should form the basis of clinical decisions in order to provide quality care. He has contributed to academics during the different phases of his career. While at Harvard, he worked on a peptide vaccine against dental caries. At the University of Southern California, he co-authored the new Problem Based Learning Endodontics didactic curriculum. He continues teaching endodontics at USC and has lectured and presented at national and international meetings such as AADR, IADR, and CDA.
Dr. Shoushtari is a member of American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Diego Country Dental Society, and Harvard Club of San Diego.
